Overview

Embarking on a tour of Leh, the capital of the Union Territory of Ladakh, offers an unparalleled experience of natural beauty and cultural richness. Nestled at an average elevation of over 3,500 meters, Leh is renowned for its stunning landscapes, ancient monasteries, and vibrant local traditions.

A journey to Leh often begins with a flight from Delhi, providing breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayan ranges. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the town's unique blend of traditional Tibetan architecture and modern amenities. The bustling markets of Leh offer a variety of local crafts, including Pashmina shawls and handcrafted jewelry, reflecting the region's rich artisanal heritage.

Exploring the outskirts of Leh reveals a plethora of attractions. The Leh–Manali Highway, stretching over 428 kilometers, connects Leh to Manali in Himachal Pradesh. This route traverses high mountain passes such as Taglang La, offering travelers panoramic views of the rugged terrain. The highway is generally open from May to October, as heavy snowfall during winter months renders it impassable.
