ARRIVE IN DELHI

Arrival Delhi in the morning. On arrival we will be welcomed by our Escort and transferred to our hotel. Post lunch visit Lotus Temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and India Gate. Overnight at hotel.

SANCHI – VIDISHA – SANCHI :10 Km

Today after breakfast we drive to Vidisha or Besnagar as it called in the Pali sculptures one of the prosperous capital of the western dominions of the Sungas, contain some remarkable antiquities. Later we will visit UDAYAGIRI CAVES: a group of twenty caves, make an interesting presentation of Hinduism and Jainism from Gupta Era between 4th and 5th century AD. Some of the caves are located at the top of the hill. Giant Narasimha sculpture attracts the most interesting part of these caves.. Overnight at hotel.

SANCHI – BHOJPUR - BHIMBETKA - BHOPAL : 150 Km

This morning after breakfast we drive to Bhopal. En route we stop at Bhojpur and Bhimbetka. BHOJPUR founded by the Parmara King of Dhar, Raja Bhoja (1010-1053), and named after him, Bhojpur is renowned for its magnificent Shiva Temple and Cyclopean Dam. The 11th century Bhojeshwar Temple often called the Somnath of North India. The massive patterns engraved on the surrounding rocks suggest that there was a grand architectural plan for the temple. BHIMBETKA ROCK SHELTER The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka are in the foothills of the Vindhyan Mountains in the central Indian plateau. Within massive sandstone outcrops, above comparatively dense forest, are five clusters of natural rock shelters, displaying paintings that appear to date from the Mesolithic Period right through to the historical period. The cultural traditions of the inhabitants of the twenty-one villages adjacent to the site bear a strong resemblance to those represented in the rock paintings. Later we drive to Bhopal check in to the hotel for overnight.

Today after breakfast we visit the most famous The Temples of Khajuraho are India’s unique gift to the world. These are fine examples of Indo-Aryan architecture that depict many aspect of Indian life at the time. Which were built in the short span of a hundred years between 950 – 1050 AD. The three main compartments are the entrance (Ardha-Mandapa),assembly hall (Mandapa)and sanctum (Garbha Griha) with geographical divisions are : Western Group, Eastern Group and Southern Group.
