Overview

India is home to a vast and diverse network of national parks, each showcasing the country's rich biodiversity and natural beauty. While famous parks like jim corbett and kaziranga often dominate discussions, several lesser-known national parks are equally fascinating, yet remain relatively unexplored by tourists.

One such hidden gem is namdapha national park in arunachal pradesh, located in the eastern himalayas. It is one of the largest national parks in india and is known for its unique biodiversity, ranging from tropical rainforests to alpine meadows. The park is home to rare species like the snow leopard, red panda, and the hoolock gibbon, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

Another lesser-known but stunning destination is sundarbans national park, located in west bengal. While the sundarbans is famous for its mangrove forests, the park itself is often overlooked by travelers. A unesco world heritage site, it is the largest tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world and plays a critical role in the conservation of the bengal tiger.

In madhya pradesh, pench national park is an off-the-beaten-path destination. Though it shares its name with the famous "Jungle book," the park sees fewer visitors than others in the state. Its diverse wildlife includes tigers, leopards, and wild dogs, while the tranquil landscape offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers.

The great nicobar biosphere reserve in the andaman and nicobar islands is another unknown treasure. The park is home to unique species like the nicobar pigeon and the dugong. Its isolation and pristine environment make it one of india’s least explored and most beautiful parks.

These lesser-known national parks of india, with their untouched landscapes and rich ecosystems, are perfect for those seeking adventure away from the typical tourist crowds.
